I am emailing in relation to the Department for Education’s free period products scheme, which is available for all state-maintained schools and colleges in England.
The scheme launched in January 2020 and has been running during the U.K. lockdowns, but over 50% of institutions still haven't signed up. This is particularly concerning in light of COVID-19, with 30% of girls reported to have been struggling to access the period products they needed during the first nationwide lockdown last year.
I am working with the not-for-profit organisations Free Periods and the Red Box Project on their #PeriodRevolution campaign to raise awareness of the scheme and to increase take-up.
I’d like to ask you to support this campaign by:
Emailing all state-maintained schools and colleges in your area with details of the scheme (precedent email here)
